Using Science For Matchmaking

Chemistry.com Tip: Have you ever wondered if there is a science to matchmaking? According to anthropologist Dr.Helen Fisher who has authored several books on the science of love, matchmaking does has a science component to it. Emotions in general, are controlled by chemical influences. According to Dr. Fisher, a person emits high levels of dopamine, a chemical that controls impulses, when he or she falls in love. This release of dopamine explains occurrences like loss of appetite, giddiness and overall euphoria during the beginning stages of love. Dr. Fisher uses some of the principals that she’s studied about the science of love in her creation of an assessment for the online dating site, Chemistry.com.
